Several generations of our family have maintained the cultivation of saffron in our region to provide the foundations of ALBARA, extending later to cultivations of olive and almond trees. We are a company of recent foundation, based on maintaining a familiar format and traditional elaboration of the crop.

These principles are the basis and identity of ALBARA, focused on quality and artisan cultivation. Maintaining the tradition of the different generations from our family roots.

THE WEATHER

Exclusive

The climatic conditions and the soil of the area, have made much of the natural selection, so that within this region develop our plantation of Saffron in a unique way.

SOIL

CLAY AND FERTILE

The formation of saline, alkaline and shallow soils has marked its imprint on our crops, which are subject to continuous stress, aspects that have served as a means of selection, causing the presence of limited production and differentiation of ALBARA Saffron.

WINDS

FAVORABLE

The Alcarria region is affected by a severe exposure to erosive agents, which leads to a need to adapt the vegetation to a relatively poor soil but in many cases is able to retain enough water.

IDEAL

TEMPERATURE

The temperature of our lands is defined by strong thermal fluctuations, with very hot summers over 35°C and very cold and short rainy winters. This makes our food to have been adapted over several decades, until we get crops rooted in the area.

EXCLUSIVE

ALTITUDE

Our farm is located at an altitude of around 900 meters above sea level, which motivates a specific microclimate, which makes our saffron, and other crops, unique.
